Team formats
Texas Scramble
A scramble with a rule that keeps everyone in it: each player's drive has to be used a minimum number of times.
- Players
- 2 or more, in teams
- Format
- Team stroke play, one ball
- Best for
- Outings with big hitters
How it works
- Play a scramble: everyone hits, pick the best shot, play from there.
- Each player's drive has to be used at least the set number of times over the round.
- Mark whose drive the team used on each hole. Fairway counts them and warns a team that's running out of holes.
Scoring and stakes
- Lowest team total wins. Pot or per stroke, split among each team's players.
Handicaps
- Gross by default, with optional team handicaps as in a scramble.
Example
- Teams of four, three drives each. After 14 holes Sam's drive has been used once: Fairway flags that Sam needs two more.
Settings you can change
- Teams
- Any number of teams, any size.
- Drives each
- Any, or 2 to 6 per player.
- Team handicaps
- Off (gross) or on.
