Extras
Snake
Three-putt and you take the snake. Pass it on with the next three-putt, or pay everyone when the round ends.
- Players
- 2 or more
- Format
- Runs all round
- Best for
- Keeping everyone honest on the greens
How it works
- Whenever someone three-putts, they take the snake.
- It passes to the next player to three-putt, on any hole.
- If two players three-putt on the same hole, whoever did it last takes it.
- Mark the three-putt on the hole. Fairway tracks who's holding it.
Scoring and stakes
- Whoever holds the snake at the end of the round pays every other player the stake.
- With a growing snake, it's worth one more stake for every three-putt in the round, so it gets expensive late.
Handicaps
- No handicap strokes: a three-putt is a three-putt.
Example
- Chris three-putts on 4 and takes the snake. Sam three-putts on 11 and takes it from him.
- Nobody three-putts after that, so Sam pays each of the other three the $5 stake: $15.
Settings you can change
- Players
- Any players in the round.
- Growing snake
- Worth one more stake with every three-putt.
