Team formats
Shamble
A team game with real scores: pick the best drive, then everyone plays their own ball in. The team's best scores count on each hole.
- Players
- 4 or more, in teams
- Format
- Team stroke play
- Best for
- Outings that still want side games
How it works
- Split into teams. Everyone tees off and the team picks the best drive.
- From there, everyone plays their own ball into the hole.
- On each hole the team's best score counts, or its best two (or more), as the group chooses. Lowest team total wins.
- Everyone has a real score, so side games like Skins or Snake can run alongside.
Scoring and stakes
- Pot: everyone antes, and the low team splits it. Per stroke: teams settle the difference, split among each team's players.
Handicaps
- Net or gross. With net on, each player's own strokes apply before the team's best scores are picked.
Example
- Two teams of four, best two count. On a par 4, Mike's team cards 4 and 5 for a 9; Chris's team has 4 and 4 for an 8.
Settings you can change
- Teams
- Any number of teams, any size.
- Scores that count
- Best 1, 2, 3 or 4 a hole.
- Stake
- Pot or per stroke, or 0 to play for points.
