Chapman
Also known as Pinehurst
A pairs format with a twist: both drive, swap balls for the second shot, then pick one and alternate.

How it works
- Both partners tee off. Each then hits the other's ball for the second shot.
- Pick the better of the two, and alternate shots from there until it's holed.
- The pair enters one score a hole. Lowest total wins.
Scoring and stakes
- Pot or per stroke, split between the partners.
Handicaps
- Gross by default. Team handicaps: 60% of the lower plus 40% of the higher.
Example
- Mike and Sam both drive, then swap. They keep Sam's second shot (from Mike's drive), and Mike hits the third.
